Close Canada’s crazy weapons loophole
To Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Minister Freeland, Members of Parliament:
As a concerned Canadian, I strongly urge you to pass an arms bill that will stop exports to any party involved in human rights violations, and to close the crazy loophole with US arms exports. It is unacceptable for Canadians to have zero visibility into where our weapons end up.

The bill deals with arms headed for places like Yemen and the Philippines, where war crimes are rampant, but it doesn’t touch anything sold to the US. With Trump in charge, US weapon rules have been loosened — which means without a change to the bill, weapons from Canada could still end up anywhere.
PM Trudeau and Minister Freeland refuse to budge, but with the election around the corner, enough MPs are on the fence that if they see the public is against it, they could close this crazy loophole. If enough of us sign, a friendly MP will deliver our petition on the floor of Parliament during debateon Friday— join now.
