Justice for Tigray’s survivors

To EU leaders, and also the UK, and African Union:

We are world citizens, deeply worried about the lack of accountability and justice for 120,000 Ethiopian women and girls in Tigray who were gruesomely abused.

We call on the EU to stop funding the failed justice process and on all leaders to do everything in their power to deliver real accountability, justice, lasting safety and peace.

Justice for Tigray’s survivors
A note. Wrapped in plastic. Forced inside Tseneat's womb – after she was gang-raped by six soldiers.

We will make Tigrayan females infertile.

She is one of the tens of thousands of women in Ethiopia who’ve been exposed to the most extreme forms of sexual violence. Soldiers wanted to make Tigrayan women sterile, to prevent their community from growing.

And while world leaders choose to look away, Tseneat often thinks of ending her life. But she also has one enduring desire: justice and accountability.

There is a way to get there: We can shine a global spotlight on this forgotten crisis, demand EU leaders stop funding a failed justice process, and urge them to push for real accountability, justice, and lasting peace instead.

In days, a coalition of NGOs and Tigray survivors will meet with EU leaders. Let’s build a massive global call to back them up — and show decision makers that the world is watching.
