After 100 days in prison, our colleague Özlem is being indicted on charges of assisting terrorist organisations – which could mean 15 years in jail. Her “crime”? Attending a human rights workshop.

It’s a travesty of injustice, but there's a glimmer of hope -- the indictment has to be accepted by the court in 48 hours. If we create enough of an outcry, we could get the regime to drop these charges. Send an urgent message now -- let’s get Özlem out.

Here are some points to help, but the more personal our messages are, the more impact they will have on the authorities:

• As a concerned global citizen, I condemn the trumped-up charges against Avaaz friend and colleague, Özlem Dalkıran, and other human rights defenders in Turkey;
• Özlem has spent her life fighting for the rights and dignity of others in Turkey and abroad. Accusing her of being a member of a terrorist organisation, is absurd;
• Özlem's arrest and indictment is bad for Turkey at home and abroad -- it makes a mockery of the justice system and I call on you to secure her and her friends’ immediate release.
