We urge you to show solidarity with vulnerable island states by supporting a rapid phaseout of HFCs at October’s Montreal Protocol meeting. Ending HFCs gives India’s businesses a chance to leapfrog inefficient and polluting technologies, and there’s money on the table to help make that happen. That makes this HFC deal not only good for our planet, but also for India and the millions of Indians living with the risk of extreme climate change.

Governments are on the cusp of banning a super-potent chemical that’s been devastating for our climate, but some powerful Indian companies are holding out.

If we don’t do something about climate change, 40 million Indians could be swept away in flooding. And Prime Minister Modi’s already made India a leader on solar and signed the Paris climate agreement, but a major chemical company wants him to put its profit ahead of his people, and the world -- our voices could give him the support he needs to stand strong as a climate hero.

105 countries are already in -- all of Africa support it, the US, China, Mexico, Europe.

And now we need India if we want this to have impact. Let’s call on Modi to be our climate hero -- sign on now and we’ll deliver our call at the meeting so he knows people everywhere are counting on him.
