Stand with the Jerico 11

To the Ministry of Mines and Energy and the National Mining Agency in Colombia:

We, citizens of the world, call on you to reject the extension of AngloGold Ashanti’s exploration permit in Jericó, Colombia, a project that threatens vital ecosystems and the rights of local communities. This permission must not be granted to a company that has responded to peaceful protest with persecution, pressing charges of kidnapping and theft against 11 farmers who bravely defended their water and land.

Stand with the Jerico 11
A mining giant is threatening to tear into a Colombian community's sacred mountain, polluting the pristine rivers that sustain it.

And what's worse: they're not just threatening the environment, they've also pressed charges against 11 brave farmers, including 86-year-old Don Porfirio, for peacefully resisting their project.

It's outrageous – but we have a chance to stop it: in just weeks, Colombian's Mining Minister can deny the company's request for a permit extension, halting the project in its tracks and weakening the case against Don Porfirio and his friends.

National leaders are already supporting the farmers, and now the community is calling for a massive global outcry that can push Minister Edwin Palma to reject this permit once and for all.

Sign now to join the call to stop this mine — and we’ll stand with the community to deliver our message straight to the Minister.
