For our future,
stand with Vanuatu!
To the UN General Assembly:
As citizens from across the world, we call on you to honor the historic International Court of Justice ruling and vote for Vanuatu’s resolution. Protecting the climate is a legal duty. It is time to turn that duty into real-world accountability and build a future that protects our children, not polluters. Stand with those on the frontlines of this crisis - not with fossil fuel interests - and vote to make polluters pay for the damage they’ve caused.

But a watershed moment is coming soon that could define climate advocacy for a generation.
Energy prices are skyrocketing. Our dangerous dependence on oil is on center stage. And in just two weeks, countries will gather at the UN to vote whether to accept their legal responsibility to transition away from fossil fuels.
Vanuatu, a tiny island country, won a major ruling last year from the World Court that countries have a legal obligation to combat the climate crisis. Now they’re bringing a resolution at the UN to turn that ruling into action.
That’s where we come in. To overcome Trump's opposition, Vanuatu and its coalition need to get Germany and Netherlands – countries where the Avaaz membership is huge! – to stop wavering and vote “yes”. This could be the turning point for climate accountability, and the deciding factor might just be how loud our voices are.
Sign now we’ll help sway key ‘swing votes’ with public polls and smart advocacy to show leaders that their voters demand climate action:
