She said he got on top of her, his heavy body pinning her down. He tried taking her clothes off, covering her mouth when she yelled out. She was just 15.
This is the testimony Dr. Christine Blasey Ford just gave to the US Congress about Brett Kavanaugh -- a man being nominated for the US Supreme Court.
But Dr. Ford is not alone. Many of us have experienced some form of sexual assault in our lifetime, and for those of us who haven’t, we at least know someone who has. Many deal with this trauma quietly, taking their stories to the grave for fear of being judged or called a liar.
