European Commission
The Bulgarian rafting is threatened to be left without white water&excl And not on account of the global warming, but as a result of politicians’ deals with oligarchs. While the European Commission has been silently conducting a wait&dashand&dashsee policy, a big motorway is planned to cross the only section, suitable for competitions, amateur rafting and other white water sports in Bulgaria – the one in Kresna Gorge. With 4 other alternatives at hand&excl

It’s about the ancient river of Struma and a motorway, that should connect Germany with Turkey and Greece. The motorway is due to be built mainly with EU money, and the appetite for the most difficult 17&dashkilometer section – Lot 3.2. &dash is greatest.
You might ask why the whole Lot 3.2 is not moved out of the gorge, but one wonderful place, that has survived unspoiled for millions of years, has to be destroyed&quest A place that is a paradise not only for rafters but also for tens of European relict and threatened flora and fauna species&quest It is part of NATURA 2000 and is the area with greatest biodiversity in Bulgaria &dash imagine, you can find there 122 species of butterflies within an area of one square kilometer&excl
The answer is that this is useful for a handful of businessmen, who rush to utilize funds with the populist argument to reduce faster the number of car incidents, ignoring the interests of the local community, ignoring the environmental impact assessment, ignoring the RAFTERS&excl

DEAR Friend&excl

Let us jointly summon the EU Commission to put an end to all funding of Struma motorway, if lot L.3.2 is not taken out of Kresna Gorge&excl If not, let it impose corresponding penalties. This is imperative because due to its disinterested behavior EU tax payers will enrich Bulgarian mafia and will destroy another heavenly place. The louder our voice, the greater the chance European and Bulgarian institutions to hear it&excl
