Online Matsec Examination Option for Covid positive or quarantined students

Most Matsec students sitting for September examinations who test positive, or are in mandatory quarantine, will not be allowed to sit for their September exams. They will have no option but to sit for exams in December.These students are mentally and physically burnt out. There is no guarantee that they will be in a position to sit for their exams in December. The Education Department  is offering a hazardous, unjust and shoddy solution. With proper planning such an eventuality could have been avoided.
We call upon the Minister of Education and the Matsec Board to offer peace of mind and a respectful solution to all Matsec students. 
Our students’ education and mental health can be safeguarded with proper planning - it is not too late to come up with an alternative for covid positive students.
