Dear Mr. President,

We write to you on a pressing matter that must surely have escaped your attention. We are aware that you have a lot of on your plate, to say the least, and can hardly be expected to monitor every detail of every court case in your country. Furthermore being aware of your intrinsic sense of justice, it is impossible for us to imagine that, having known the details of this case, you would not have already employed your considerable powers to intervene.

We are referring to the case of the Kachaturian sisters, three girls, one still a minor and the others recently graduated from high school, who police investigations have determined were the persistent victims  of not only continual physical assault, but rape on the part of their own father, a notorious local criminal.
At the moment, despite an initial finding that this was what it clearly was - an act of desperate self-defence by those trapped under the power of a violent and unnatural madman, who had violated the most sacred responsibilities of fatherhood in the worst way it was possible to do  - they are now being criminally prosecuted, the elder sisters who have already lived through hell facing twenty years in prison, the younger facing compulsory psychiatric treatment in the most brutal of circumstances. We write because we have every confidence that a proud father such as yourself, made aware of such injustice, would surely intervene to protect traumatised children from further punishment.
