Darren M.
started this petition to
Retraining of Racehorses (RoR)
My name is Darren Miller, I am a barefoot trimmer at Roscos Hoofs. I am starting this petition to have rule 31.1 of the RoR rules changed to allow barefoot horses the chance to compete in ridden showing classes.
I want every horses to have the ability to participate in every discipline.
The RoR tag line is 'This charity promotes the versatility and adaptability of racehorses for other equestrian activities and provides the necessary infrastructure and funding to care for former racehorses that would otherwise be vulnerable.' This I has been proven to be FALSE!  They have on countless conversations said that they are unwilling to discuss barefoot horses to compete due to 'Purely Safety reasons' but have failed to provide any evidence that supports this fact. I am all for people wanting to shoe their horse if they wish and I will support anyone wanting to go barefoot as everyone wants to do what they feel is best for their horses. It would mean alot if all my friends, family and the rest of the horsey community could sign this petition and get this outdated rule changed.
