Les habitants de plusieurs petites îles du nord de Madagascar, vivant sur leur terroir depuis des décennies, sont menacés d’expulsions.
En effet, suite à l’annonce de projets de développement du tourisme de luxe par les dirigeants de l’Etat, diverses actions des autorités et des investisseurs portent atteinte aux droits des habitants.
A Nosy Mitsio, la suspension des procédures liées à l’acquisition de titres fonciers par les citoyens dure depuis 5 ans maintenant et six défenseurs des terres ont été mis en garde à vue pendant plusieurs jours avant d’être acquittés. Sur Nosy Sakatia, les habitants sont terrorisés sans cesse par les autorités qui soutiennent la société Green Mada Land dont le bail emphytéotique a pourtant déjà été annulé. A Nosy Be, de nombreuses communautés sont menacées d’expulsions par de richissimes et puissants opérateurs économiques. A Nosy Iranja et Nosy Faly, des changements inquiétants commencent à apparaître.
Les points communs à ces cas sont l’opacité inacceptable, l’absence totale d’information des communautés locales sur les projets des investisseurs et la velléité de développer un tourisme de luxe excluant les habitants actuels de ces îles de toute consultation ou participation aux décisions.
Les menaces qui pèsent sur les droits fonciers, économiques, sociaux et culturels des habitants des îles constituent des violations de déclarations des Nations Unies et pactes internationaux que l’Etat malgache a ratifiés.

The inhabitants of several small islands in northern Madagascar, who have been living on their land for decades, are threatened with eviction.
Following the announcement of luxury tourism development projects by government leaders, various actions by the authorities and investors are undermining the rights of the inhabitants.
In Nosy Mitsio, the suspension of procedures linked to the acquisition of land titles by citizens has been going on for 5 years now, and six land defenders were held in police custody for several days before being acquitted. On Nosy Sakatia, the inhabitants are constantly terrorized by the authorities, who support the Green Mada Land company, whose long lease has already been cancelled. On Nosy Be, many communities are threatened with eviction by wealthy and powerful economic operators. In Nosy Iranja and Nosy Faly, worrying changes are beginning to appear.
What these cases have in common is an unacceptable lack of transparency, a total absence of information for local communities about investors' projects, and a desire to develop luxury tourism that excludes the islands' current inhabitants from any consultation or participation in decision-making.
The threats to the land, economic, social and cultural rights of the islanders constitute violations of United Nations declarations and international covenants ratified by the Malagasy state.

- Demandons, au Président de la République de Madagascar et aux décideurs, d’arrêter ces projets effroyables.
