Scientists clearly warn that risking runaway climate change threatens our very survival, and the future of everything we love. We call on you to commit to keep global temperature rise under the safe level of 2 degrees celsius, by rapidly shifting our societies and economies to be powered by 100% clean energy. We call on you to urgently forge global, national and local agreements, and realistic plans, to achieve this end. Our world is worth saving and the time to act is now. But to change everything, we need everyone. Join us.

Climate - the most important petition we've ever done
It's the biggest threat humanity is facing, and we need the biggest petition ever to meet it.

Sorry for the language, but one top scientist just warned that we are all "f*cked" if global warming releases gigantic amounts of methane gas (25 times worse than carbon dioxide) from where its currently safely frozen into the arctic tundra. And that's just one catastrophic scenario we're facing. This is not alarmism, it's science.

The UN knows this, and is bringing every world leader to New York for an emergency summit. But these leaders are wrapped up in their political jobs - it's not that they wouldn't want to save the world (what kind of idiot wouldn't?), it's just that we human beings are strange creatures - saving ourselves by shifting our economies to 100% clean energy is a big change, and we don't make big changes unless we feel a big push to do it.

So this petition needs to be the "everybody" petition. All of us - because all our futures are at stake - need to make it clear that it's time to act, time to move. From Brazilians to Burmese, artists to bankers, grandmothers to grandchildren, we need one *massive* chorus to land at this UN summit. The number of signatures will be read out to every world leader as they sit and listen to our message.
