In two days New York is on the cusp of passing one of the best and biggest campaign finance reform bills in the country, giving the national movement to kick big money out of our politics a huge boost. But it's hanging by a thread and needs our help to push it over the finish line. All it takes is a quick call:

    Governor Andrew Cuomo (518-474-8390)
(See below for some great talking points)

Reforming our campaign finance system is a massive task that often feels hopeless. But passing this Fair Elections bill in NY is a concrete step we can take towards fixing the problem and experts say if it passes here, just like gay marriage, it can spread to other states. It's already passed the State Assembly, but now it’s being held up in the Senate by a Republican minority and a handful of conservative Dems. With just days left in session only a full-court press by Governor Cuomo can shift enough votes to land a massive win for people over SuperPACs.

Let's let Cuomo know we need him to lead on one of the most important issues of our time and make NY where change begins. Take action now by making a quick call to the Governor's office:

    Governor Andrew Cuomo (518-474-8390)

Here are some useful points you can raise on your call

    * I am counting on Governor Cuomo to make sure a strong public financing bill passes before this legislative session closes.

    * Reducing the influence of big money in politics is the most important issue facing our democracy today.

    * If Governor Cuomo has future ambitions about being a political leader, whether he can succeed in passing this bill will be a critical marker of whether he's the kind of leader we can trust.
