PM Trudeau: help end the suicide epidemic

To Prime Minister Trudeau:

As global citizens we are deeply saddened by the suicide epidemic in Attawapiskat. After years of silence, proposals aren’t enough -- we demand that you urgently put into action your government’s proposals to reverse generations of mistreatment of Canada’s First Nations, and seek to do more. It shouldn’t have come to this, but it’s time to end this trauma and tragedy once and for all.

PM Trudeau: help end the suicide epidemic
Over 100 people have tried to kill themselves, since September, in a tiny Canadian First Nations community plagued by a housing shortage, sewage contamination, and a history of sexual and physical abuse -- but now we can answer their call for help.

Canada’s new government promised significant policy changes during the election, and if under the glare of international media attention, we can spread this story to everyone we know and build the biggest call for indigenous rights the world has ever seen -- we can show Justin Trudeau that his new government’s growing reputation is at stake if they don’t follow through and do more.

The Chief of Attawapiskat said “we’re crying for help” and has asked everyone to spread the word so that these communities aren’t forgotten when the spotlight fades. Let’s answer his call with a worldwide cry of our own that Trudeau can’t ignore.

Click to sign and share this with everyone -- the stronger our call the more pressure the government will feel to act.
