Demand to change the place for the festival "Marés Vivas"

MEO is the main sponsor of this music festival which is eager to change its usual place near the Douro River to the most improper local for such an mass event - directly in front of the door of the protected Nature Reserve Estuário do Douro, where the river meets the see and thousands of birds lives and moves, passes by and rest. This is the earth of the birds and if someone consider it a stage, it should be for the birds.
The civic movement SOS Estuary of the Douro tried its best to convence the local authorities as well as the promotor of the event to change their minds, but without success.
Please, urge the manager of MEO to make clear that he doesn’t want the name of his enterprise stained by a wrong decision of the Mayor of Vila Nova de Gaia and his unwillingness to listen to the voice of reason.
MEO é o principal patrocinador deste festival de música que está prestes para mudar o seu local habitual, perto do rio Douro para o local mais impróprio para dum mega festival - lado à lado da protegida Reserva Natural Local do Estuário do Douro, onde centenas de pássaros vivem, nidificam e descansam na sua migração. Esta é a terra das aves e se alguém considerar aqui um palco, deve ser para as aves.
O Movimento Cívico SOS Estuário do Douro tentou o seu melhor para convencer as autoridades locais, bem como o promotor do evento para mudar as suas mentes, mas sem sucesso.
Por favor, exige ao gerente do MEO para deixar claro que não quero o nome da sua empresa manchado sobre uma decisão errada do Presidente da C.M. Vila Nova de Gaia e sua falta de vontade de ouvir a voz da razão.
