UPDATE ON THE SITUATION
After 34 years of public service must Govinda's &dash the city's oldest vegetarian restaurant and the inner city's only and oldest Hindu temple &dash leave the premises at Fridhemsplan, Stockholm.
We are now looking for replacement premises and financing in order to continue our activities in the city. We appreciate any your kind help and advice&excl

The continued existence of this Spiritual Centre is now in danger since the landlord, a property company owned by the Municipality of Stockholm, has cancelled the renting contract with no offer of proper compensation. If this will not change, the whole Centre will be forced to close down its activities. Many people have expressed that this would be a great loss.
It is reasonable to claim that a municipal property company has a special responsibility to take into consideration the public benefit that this Centre offers to the population of Stockholm.
The Centre is run by ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness), the world´s largest international Hindu institution based on the ancient Vedic scriptures. It consists of a Hindu temple, famous vegetarian restaurant "Govinda's", which is the oldest in Sweden, and an Indian goods shop. The Centre has existed in Fridhemsplan (Central Stockholm) for over 34 years; and during its existence for public service it has developed to become an established cultural institution.
The Centre is yearly visited by up to 100 000 people of different categories&colon worshippers, spiritual seekers, teachers and students (for study visits), vegetarians/vegans, Hindus, global Indians etc. The visitors are benefitted by the variety of facilities and activities the Centre offers&colon worship, conduction of religious rituals such as marriage ceremonies, spiritual initiation etc, courses in spiritual philosophy, interfaith dialogues, devotional yoga, mantra meditation, Indian music and dance, theatre, vegetarian cooking, ayurvedic health care, as well as festivals, vegetarian karma free freshly cooked meals, a shop offering a variety of products that harmonize with a holistic healthy spiritual culture.

Hyresvärden, Familjebostäder, en fastighetsägare inom allmännyttan i Stockholms stad, har sagt upp hyreskontraktet utan något erbjudande om rimlig ersättning. Utan en sådan kommer centret tvingas stänga och upphöra med alla aktiviteter. Många människor har uttryckt att detta skulle vara en stor förlust.
Det är rimligt att hävda att ett bostadsbolag inom allmännyttan har ett särskilt ansvar att värna om de fördelar för allmänheten och staden som helhet som detta center kan erbjuda Stockholms alla invånare, så väl som alla andra som kommer hit.
Detta andliga center, som drivs av ISKCON (Internationella sällskapet för Krishnamedvetande), är världens största internationella hinduistiska rörelse, baserat på de uråldriga vediska skrifterna. Här finns ett tempel, en butik och en vegetarisk restaurang. Centret har drivits här mitt i Stockholm i över 34 år. Under denna tid har det vuxit till den etablerade kulturella institution som det är i dag.
Varje år besöks centret av upptill 100 000 besökare. L’esistenza dI questo Centro Spirituale è ora in pericolo in quanto una società del Comune di Stoccolma che ne è proprietaria, ha disdetto il contratto di locazione senza alcuna offerta di compensazione adeguata. A meno che non vi sia un mutamento di eventi, l’intero Centro dovrà per forza interrompere le proprie attività e a questo proposito molte persone hanno espresso l’opinione che questa sarebbe una grave perdita. È ragionevole affermare che un Ente Municipale ha lo specifico dovere di tener conto del beneficio pubblico che questo Centro offre ai cittadini di Stoccolma. Il Centro è gestito dalla ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness), l’istituzione indù internazionale che si basa sulle antiche Scritture Vediche più grande al mondo. Esso consiste in un tempio, nel famoso ristorante vegetariano “Govinda’s”, che è il più antico di Stoccolma, e in un negozio di prodotti indiani. Il Centro è a Fridhemsplan (Stoccolma centro) da 34 anni e durante la sua esistenza, finalizzata al servizio pubblico, è divenuto un’istituzione culturale riconosciuta. ESTO ES MUY IMPORTANTE
La ya larga existencia de este Centro Espiritual esta ahora comprometida puesto que la propietaria del espacio, una empresa propiedad de la Municipalidad de Estocolmo, ha cancelado el contrato de alquiler sin ofrecer una compensación adecuada. Si esta situación no cambia, todo el Centro estará forzado a cerrar sus actividades. Mucha gente ha expresado que esto sería una pérdida gigantesca e irreparable.
Es razonable decir que la compañía municipal que es propietaria tiene la especial responsabilidad de considerar los beneficios que este Centro ofrece a la población de Estocolmo.
El Centro está dirigido por ISKCON (la Sociedad Internacional para la Consciencia de Krishna por sus siglas en inglés), la institución hindú más grande del mundo, una institución basada en las ancestrales escrituras Védicas. Este Centro contiene un templo hindú, el restaurant vegetariano "Govinda's" que es muy famoso y es el más antiguo de Suecia, y una tienda de productos de la India. Este Centro ha existido en Fridhemsplan (centro de Estocolmo) por más de 34 años y durante este tiempo se ha desarrollado hasta convertirse en una institución cultural muy bien establecida.

Este Centro ha existido en Fridhemsplan (centro de Estocolmo) por más de 34 años y durante este tiempo se ha desarrollado hasta convertirse en una institución cultural muy bien establecida.
El Centro es visitado anualmente por hasta cien mil personas de diferentes categorías&colon devotos, buscadores espirituales, profesores y estudiantes (visitas de estudio de campo), vegetarianos y veganos, hindúes, diáspora hindú, turistas, degustadores de cocina vegetariana internacional, etc. Los visitantes se benefician de una serie de facilidades y actividades que el Centro ofrece&colon adoración, ceremonias de matrimonio, iniciaciones espirituales, cursos de filosofía, reuniones y conferencias de diálogos interreligiosos, yoga devocional, meditación con mantras, música, danza, teatro, cocina vegetariana y cuidado ayurvédico de la salud, como también una serie de festivales vibrantes que cuentan con la participación de cientos de personas, comida fresca vegetariana libre de karma y una tienda que ofrece una variedad de productos que armonizan con una cultura espiritual de salud holística reconocida en la ciudad como una atracción exótica e interesante para todos.
