(Pee Intervention Sanitary Squad&colon One Feminist Front)

The signatories of this petition request Mrs Zühal Demir , State Secretary of Poverty Reduction, Equal Opportunities, People with a handicap, Urban and Science Policy to take the necessary steps to halt the centuries old sanitary sexism in the context of her competence according to the policy of Equal Rights 2014 – 2019. As coordinator competent for the adjustment of the transversal policy processes within miscellaneous policies, the signatories demand from the State Secretary&colon

A. to stimulate her colleagues of the Flemish government to integrate equal sanitary rights for all , as a lack of it, implies an attack on the freedom of movement, health and esteem of women, men, transpersons and people in wheelchairs.

B. to compose concrete action plans, once the following five statements have been recognized , in which each individual and competent minister accepts the responsibility for the realisation of the captured action plans for equal sanitary rights&colon
  1. there is a fundamental unequal treatment on sanitary level among women and men. Through lack of a law in providing public sanitary in urban areas, quite a few municipalities and towns establish free pee columns for men to prevent nuisance by urinating "wild" (ex. against the wall). As for women there are no services.
  2. urinating "wild" (ex. against the wall) is not only a matter of men, but also of women caused (ex. behind the car) by a lack of safe, clean, free and unlimited access to sanitation.
  3. to establish solitary urinals , without equivalent sanitation for women contains an unequal treatment of women & men and therefore is a violation of equality .
  4. unisex toilets for all should be accessible to people in wheelchairs , unlimitedly open, free and clean. The present sanitary discrimination towards women and people in wheelchairs should thus be lifted. Moreover unisex toilets also satisfy the specific needs of transpersons .
  5. an unequal offer of sanitation is merely based on budgetary and other practical objections, and the unconditional equality among women and men is flagrantly infringed .
