TFL/Network Rail
TFL and Network Rail are in talks to demolish the block opposing the Angel tube station (from Pentonville Road to the south and White Lion Street to the north) to make way for a new Crossrail 2 station. This will mean the destruction of two Grade-II listed buildings, and the loss of the final physical remnants of a culturally and historically significant area – the Angel deriving its very name from the inn that was based here.

Essex Road or Old Street has existing rail infrastructure which should be harnessed to revitalize those areas, rather than reducing to rubble local history.
