The City of Cape Town: cease pollution and vile stench permeating Hout Bay by Oceana

The foul stench originating from Oceana processing plant in Hout Bay affects the quality of life of inhabitants and the vital tourism industry alike. Oceana claim they are operating within legal, acceptable emission limits. When approached by several residents an investigation ensues, only once more to state all is well and operations are "normal". Business support is being affected. Hout Bay depends on tourism, B&B's, Hotels, Markets and restaurants.All are losing income, with patrons and guests opting for alternate leisure destinations due to the smell in the air. Thick plumes of white and grey smoke, foul smelling liquid substances being pumped directly into the Bay is causing loss of business and discomfort to many affected locally. The City of Cape Town need to address this urgently. The fish processing plant either needs to relocate or cease releasing foul odours and polluted substances into the Bay.
