The Global Climate March

Event Reports

For the initiation of Red Cross Nordic United World College community of Fjaler Kommune, Norway was part of this unprecedented global action with about 100 people, about 40 RCN students among them marched with candles in streets of Dale in the November rain. The keynote speaker was the leader of the local Green Party, Mark Taylor but the participants could listen to speeches from all over the world: in the remote part of Norway there were voices from the Maldives, Vietnam, Tibet and Malaysia.


What will happen at the event?

We want the Paris UN meeting to sign the Paris goals and find solution to make the counties to keep their goals. We want Norway to be the first carbon neutral country in the world!

17:20 March over the bridge of Dalselva and return to the Parken

Dress up warm, bring tealights in glass jars!
Local schools are welcome to make environmental arts that can be banners, sculptures, etc. we can use at the march.

This event is part of the Global Climate March. On November 30th, world leaders meet in Paris to start negotiating the next global climate deal.
