Koh Lanta's Climate Change March
11/29/2015 3:00 pm
Event Hosted By Aruna Singh
‹‹ No-Coal Krabi Campaign is currently fighting the construction of an 870 MW Coal Plant in Krabi. This is the first of 9 coal plants in the Andaman Region and Sea (south of Thailand).
It is outrageous that Thailand's Energy Olan includes 9 new coal plants when the World is moving towards green and renewable energies.
We want to protect the Andaman Sea from Coal and Save the Planet from more climate changes. ››
What will happen at the event?
There is also the extra significance that soon, very close to Koh Lanta, a coal-fired power plant could be built. So, this event also aims to raise awareness of the No Coal Krabi protest.
There will be a photo exhibition about coal and climate change. There will be various activities for kids, a Thai buffet, drinks and a live band.
We hope to take photos of people at the event holding a No Coal Krabi/Act On Climate poster which can be shared on No Coal Krabi social media.
