Germany: Fight, not fuel, organised crime in Mexico!

Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier:

We call on you to immediately withhold any negotiations about a joint security agreement with Mexico until the killing of the 43 Mexican students has been fully investigated, all perpetrators have been brought to justice and Mexico has established a national register for disappeared persons, including a DNA-Database. In the current state of corruption, any cooperation with Mexico could result in further resources for organized crime.

Germany: Fight, not fuel, organised crime in Mexico!
They were just a group of students -- 43 Mexican trainee teachers who wanted a brighter future for their people. Now they’re missing, abducted by the local police and presumably mercilessly killed, burned and dumped into a river by a drug mafia. But we can help make this tragedy a turning point in Mexico's struggle against these horrendous crimes!

Drug cartels not only have murdered more than 120,000 people in Mexico alone, they've increasingly captured chunks of its democratic institutions. No wonder the government is showing little resolve in investigating the students’ disappearances. However, Germany and Mexico are negotiating a security agreement to increase police collaboration -- and it's up to our government to suspend the negotiations until the Mexican government takes serious action to find the truth behind the horrific attack on the 43 students and holds the guilty accountable.

Now is the time to act -- let's tell our Foreign Minister, Mr. Steinmeier, to use our tax money to fight and not fuel organised crime. He was a student leader himself and if enough of us raise our voices now, we can persuade him to suspend the negotiations! Click below to sign the petition and tell everyone:
