Akihito, the emperor of Japan, Shinzō Abe, Japan prime minister, Shunichi YAMAGUCHI, minister in charge of scientific and technologic policies, Hakubun SHIMOMURA, minister of education, culture, sports, science and technology, Koya NISHIKAWA, minister of agriculture, forest and fisheries

The association of whaling with any kind of scientific activity is simply not possible for it represents a severe offense to the entire world scientific community.
