Help us let Aldi know that US consumers do not want to eat GM products either and that we also know that continuing to carry GM products is in direct opposition to their Corporate Responsibility (CR) policy!

Aldi recognizes on their United Kingdom site ( https://corporate.aldi.co.uk/en/responsibility/resources-for-our-products/genetically-modified-foods/ ) "We know that GM food is controversial and that many of our customers don't want to eat it. That's why we have a 'No GM' policy that requires all of our own label products to be free from GM ingredients."

This differs drastically from what they offer on the US site regarding GMs...no mention of it. But, they DO mention many things in their core values which is in direct conflict with not only making GM available to us here in the US, but not making us aware of the presence or absence of those items in their stores:

Aldi states on their US site (https://corporate.aldi.us/en/corporate-responsibility/corporate-responsibility/) under Corporate Responsibility:

"We are convinced that long-term business success can only be achieved if we additionally assume responsibility for people, nature and the environment. This belief is reflected in our CR Policy. Our CR Policy represents the binding framework for the activities of our employees, business partners and suppliers, in every area of our operations."

The CR Policy states:

"ALDI promises its customers quality products for the best price. Our understanding of product quality includes consumer safety, health and well-being and product sustainability. We want to enable consumers to make informed choices. We strive to reduce or avoid any negative impacts of our products and operations and maximize their positive attributes and benefits."

"The safety of our products for consumption or use is our number one commitment to our consumers. ALDI’s safety and quality-management policies and processes are based on the principles of due diligence. As a minimum, we comply with all relevant consumer legislation and safety standards. Our internal standards often go beyond this and we strive to exceed professional industry standards through our entire supply chain. If public safety incidences occur in our supply chain, we have a management system in place to identify any products affected, to remove them from sale and to alert customers about products that need to be returned. We maintain constant vigilance over the ingredients and materials which are used in our products.
If new information comes to light indicating that products which were once thought safe are now proven to be hazardous to human health or the environment, then we will react appropriately."

"We enable our customers to make informed choices by labeling and communicating nutritional information on all our food products. All our buyers and manufacturers are tasked with continuing to improve the nutritional profile of each product line in accordance with locally-relevant taste profiles." Help us let Aldi know that US consumers do not want to eat GM products either and that we also know that continuing to carry GM products is in direct opposition to their CR policy!

Policy: "ALDI promises its customers quality products for the best price."
Response: GM products ARE NOT quality products.

Policy: "Our understanding of product quality includes consumer safety, health and well-being and product sustainability."
Response:GM products threaten consumer safety, health and well-being. GM products threaten sustainability of all food products, not just Aldi's.

Policy: "We want to enable consumers to make informed choices."
Response: We cannot make informed choices when GM products are not labeled. Please remove them so we can support Aldi!

Policy: "We strive to reduce or avoid any negative impacts of our products and operations and maximize their positive attributes and benefits."
Response: To attain this goal, GM must be removed from your products. GM products have been correlated with MANY negative impacts and have shown ZERO positive attributes or benefits for the consumer.

Policy: "The safety of our products for consumption or use is our number one commitment to our consumers."
Response: GM products are not safe for consumption. Please fulfill this commitment to your US consumers.

Policy: "As a minimum, we comply with all relevant consumer legislation and safety standards. Our internal standards often go beyond this and we strive to exceed professional industry standards through our entire supply chain."
Response: Please act on your "internal standards" and go beyond what our legislation and safety standards have done to offer safe, wholesome, GM free foods to your consumers.

Policy: "If public safety incidences occur in our supply chain, we have a management system in place to identify any products affected, to remove them from sale and to alert customers about products that need to be returned."
Response: Please act on this and remove/refuse any products containing GM ingredients.

Policy: "If new information comes to light indicating that products which were once thought safe are now proven to be hazardous to human health or the environment, then we will react appropriately."
Response: We are now bringing it to your attention that the GM products once thought to be safe are now showing hazardous to both human health AND the environment. Please appropriately react by committing to a "No GM Policy" as you have in the United Kingdom. http://gmoevidence.com/

Policy: "We enable our customers to make informed choices by labeling and communicating nutritional information on all our food products."
Response: To perform according to this statement in your CR Policy, you must either label the GM products, label the GM free products or commit to a GM free policy as you have done in the UK. GM is the absolute most crucial piece of information regarding a product's nutritional information, and without labeling we cannot responsibly shop in Aldi in the United States of America.

Help us let Aldi know that US consumers do not want to eat GM products either and that we also know that continuing to carry GM products is in direct opposition to their Corporate Responsibility (CR) policy!
