Belfast County Grand Orange Lodge: Apologise for Grand Master Chittick's anti-Irish language comments

We feel that George Chittick's comments telling Protestants not to learn the Irish language were misguided, misinformed, jingoistic and contrary to the cause of cross-community relations. This is especially true after the violence and disorder seen at the Skainos Centre in East Belfast with the opening of their Irish language centre.

As a County Lodge Grand Master Mr Chittick has a responsibility to promote harmonious relations between different religious, cultural and political groups and to this end we seek an apology and that his comments be withdrawn.
