Canadian Federal Minister Of The Environment Catherine McKenna: STOP ENERDU AND SAVE OUR RIVER
Terry T.
started this petition to
Canadian Federal Minister Of The Environment Catherine McKenna
There is a very deep concern with the
situation in
Almonte, Ontario
, where money seems to be running roughshod over
the environment. Please take a moment to consider the following and
help
Almonte save their river by signing the petition.
We ask you to please consider requiring the Federal Minister Of The Environment Catherine McKenna to intervene on behalf of the ENDANGERED Rapids Clubtail dragonfly, Gomphus quadricolor (which your Ministry is responsible to protect under SARA) as she did for the Western Chorus Frog.
ENERDU (Cavanagh Construction) wants to excavate the riverbed and construct a hydro project that will destroy a cascading waterfall in a heritage site on the Mississippi River for power we do not need.
The studies have been done. Some studies are flawed and incomplete . The province is ignoring town concerns.
This petition is important for you to sign because preserving our waterways and in doing so, our heritage, is more important than profit for the few.
Thank you for your consideration.
