CITES mission: "(the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) is an international agreement between governments. Its aim is to ensure that international trade in specimens of wild animals and plants does not threaten their survival."
There is a questionable history of the methods and the results of decision-making, often done with secret ballot and no transparency, and the actions of certain nations and or organizations who appear to heavily influence decisions to the detriment of global wildlife. We petition herein to request a full investigation into the current and past officers of CITES, and into all financial aspects of said officers and their families. We request full detailed inquiry into all memos, emails, texts, and communications of any nature into the organization, as zealous as that done on FIFA. The only thing worse than no protection for wildlife is the pretense of one. One would have to be completely out of the loop of news of any sort to not know all the reasons this is urgently needed. Lions, elephants, rhinos, pangolins, polar bears, ocean life, all global flora and fauna are under the threat of the sixth mass extinction, human caused, and true action and honesty are a necessity going forward.
