The White House , The State Deparment
Austin Tice, US Marine, veteran, law-student and freelance journalist was last heard from on August 13th when he was abducted while documenting war narratives in Syria.
Dedicated to putting a human face on a war sparsely documented, Austin sacrificed his safety and security to spend the summer under shells and helicopters, in hospitals and homes. Austin Tice's life and work represent someone who believed that the people suffering in war deserved to be seen. Yet he who dedicated his life to making the invisible visible is now dangerously invisible. By signing this petition, we are connecting to and connected by Austin’s courage-this action saying to the world through that we value his life and the lives of Syrian people.
This is an opportunity to raise global awareness of this tragic silence. At a time when hope seems incredibly thin, this is a chance to combat the plague of apathy and indifference regarding the harrowing circumstances in Syria.
