Give Malta Rugby League (MRL) a qualifying path to the 2017 Rugby League World Cup.

Malta Rugby League (MRL) is an Affiliate Member of the Rugby League European Federation (RLEF), just the same as numerous other World Cup Qualification participating nations.

The MRL was founded in 2004, "to promote and develop Rugby League within the Maltese community".

Since 2004, the 'Malta Knights' have risen to a RLIF international ranking high of 20th, and currently hold an RLEF ranking of 14th in Europe.

Since 2004, exactly 100 players have represented the Malta Knights national team. Another 61 have represented the Malta XIII.

Already in their short history, Malta has achieved the following honours:
2010 - Won the RLEF European Bowl
2011 - 2nd place on for/against to Germany for the 2011 RLEF European Shield
2012 - Won the Dove Men+Care International Series v Denmark

Malta, an island of circa 420,000 population, also boasts large supporter bases in Australia, the UK and the USA. Prominent Rugby League personalities are all big fans of Maltese Rugby League for the fact that Malta has added value for Rugby League, something that not many nations can present.

Qualification to a 'team sport' World Cup would be arguably Malta's greatest sporting achievement in history. And this is your chance to do your part in having the authorities give that opportunity for a qualification path to the MRL.

DOESN'T MALTA ALREADY HAVE THAT OPPORTUNITY?
No, the MRL understands that plans for RLWC 2017 do not include Malta to be a part of the qualifying process despite the MRL meeting all criteria.
