started this petition to
Minister Adan Mohamed, East Africa MPs, Kenya Association of Manufacturers, Minister Judy Wakhungu and Minister Amina Mohamed
UPDATE: We did it! After thousands of people got on board to support the ban, Kenya’s Environment Minister has just announced that in six months, plastic bags will be banned! But the fight is now on with the powerful plastics industry saying it will do all it can to kill the bill. Keep signing and sharing the petition!
---------------------------------

Along the beaches of Mombasa and across the plains of the Masai Mara, our lands and oceans are awash with plastic . In Nairobi alone, 86,000 bags are handed out every day, leading to animals guts packed with black bags and rivers clogged with rubbish.

But any day now, Tanzania and Rwanda will push for a vote on a bold plan that could turn the plastic tide across East Africa. And Kenya could join them, but they need our support to overcome resistance from MPs and businesses.

Join now to urge Kenyan politicians to finally get drastic with plastic and keep our countries clean! We will share this campaign directly with ministers and industry once we hit 5,000 signers!
