Minister of Environmental Affairs: Publish #Rhino poaching incident, arrest and conviction statistics weekly

Rhino poaching incident, arrest and conviction statistics should be collated daily in order to monitor the scourge of poaching and assess the impact of anti-poaching interventions. This information should be published in the interests of transparency and accountability to the South African public. The Minister's statement on 03 March 2015 that statistics will be released "quarterly or so" is unacceptable. We call on the Minister of Environmental Affairs to publish the information weekly on the www.environment.gov.za website. Rhino are a major part of South Africa's heritage and belong to its people, it is also a heritage we share with the world. South African's, and the world, have a right to know AND the responsibility to hold the SA Government to account. Thank you for your support.
