Prague City Hall’s Heritage Department
The bronze lion-shaped memorial was unveiled June 17, 2014 in Prague, Czech republic by Sir Nicholas Soames MP, the grandson of wartime British prime minister Winston Churchill, at a ceremony in the presence of several surviving Czechoslovak RAF veterans who fought in World II. Bureaucrats from Prague City Hall want to remove the statue and claims that the placing of the statue in an architecturally and historically protected area is in violation of the law. The fact that the statue is a gift (worth 100 000 pounds colllected from a british community living in Prague) from the British people is not a mitigating circumstance. Please tell Prague City Hall that they lost they sense for reality.
