President - Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka
Sinnathambi Udaya Sri was granted an imprisonment of two years for scratching
her initials on the Mirror wall in
historic Sigiriya
whilst visiting the site

Taking her family background along with the social environment she
grew up in and other social factors in to account, it is very much evident that
this was nothing but a mistake committed by her unintentionally, unknowing of
the consequences she'll have to face after this.

It is evident that her family members are struggling to
appeal against the unjust manner in which this case has been dealt with, simply
because they cannot  understand Sinhala.

As per the basic principles of
justice, the people in this country expect to see a change or revision of the
sentence of imprisonment issued to this girl.

In this regard we believe that Sinnathambi Udaya Sri Should be given the common pardon by considering her backgrounds and her previous character.

We also believe that there should be a sense of equity behind the strict rules of law.

So, we insist that Udaya Sri should be given the pardon since she was ,is , and will be a victim of many kind of discriminations (such as poverty, culture, language, education and nationality) created by our own society !!  .
