The campaign aims are; to ensure justice to the families of the murdered journalists, raise awareness of the hostile and dangerous conditions that journalists work under in South Sudan and to keep informed the International bodies with detailed information about the media situation in South Sudan. The campaign on the world Press day (May 3rd 2015 and end on 06/18th/2015,

On the 22nd January 2015, five journalists were killed in an ambush by unidentified gunmen in Western Bahr al Ghazal state. The murdered journalists were Musa Mohamed, director of the state-run radio station Raja FM; Adam Juma, presenter and reporter for Raja FM; Raja FM reporters Dalia Marko and Randa George; and Boutros Martin, cameraman for the Western Bahr el Ghazal branch of South Sudan Television. The murder is an attack on the fundamental human right as stated in Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. IPCA calls on government of South Sudan to use whatever mechanisms it has in its power to bring perpetrators of human rights violations to justice.

The campaign covers all the ten state of South Sudan; emphasis will be put in Western Bhar El-Ghazel state. The campaign involves; development of the campaign communication tools, host press right focus discussion forums, operate “media right” radio advocacy, press conferences and issue press releases. The campaign expert to amplify the voice of local journalists, transform the content, conditions, and policies of media culture in South Sudan.
