Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina
Almost half a year has passed since the brutal murder of author Avijit Roy, killed by Muslim extremists for his skeptical and critical views on religion. What has your investigation into the murder yielded so far? Surely Farabi Shafiur Rahman did not carry out this attack by himself. How many other arrests have been made? We demand to know the progress of the investigation and the details of its findings. What steps will you take to ensure the safety of other bloggers? Two other bloggers, Washiqur Rahman Babu and Ananta Bijoy Das were also murdered this year under near identical circumstances. How many arrests were made in connection to their murders? We call on you to give a statement outlining the findings of the investigations into these murders and also explain your government's response to these findings, in order to ensure the safety of your citizens and to protect their right to express themselves. The world is watching.
