Dear Madam Chancellor,

We, the undersigned residents of the Czech Republic, address this appeal to you, one of the great political leaders respected both in Western and Eastern Europe. We are sure that, together with the whole world, you are following the unequal struggle of the Ukrainian patriot, soldier and politician, brave Nadiya Savchenko, against the inhuman judicial system of the Russian Federation. You are probably also aware that Nadiya, in protest against the violation of her essential human rights, has held for three months hunger strike on only liquids, and in recent days dry hunger strike. It is therefore no wonder that her health is rapidly deteriorating. In her situation, she cannot trust Russian physicians, and Russia will not allow a visit by Ukrainian doctors. By this inhuman treatment of Nadiya are violated her fundamental human rights and freedoms. Therefore, we implore you to comply with the request of the Ukrainian government, which asked Germany to send its own medical team to Nadiya Savchenko. We believe that the Russian court will respect the moral credit of the German doctors and allow them to treat Nadiya.

We are sure that it is within your power to save the life of this extraordinary woman, Nadiya Savchenko, but we fear that the time is getting desperately short.

Thanking you in advance,

Josef Bílek, Petr Vydra, Martin Uhlíř, Gelena Fedys, Marta Štrachová, David Smoljak, Tomáš Richter, Martin Rozumek, Jiří Polman, Luboš Drobík, Olga Sommerová, Jan Štern, Petr Havlík, Hana Marvanová, Markéta Zámyslická, Radek John, Štefan Hríb, Tomáš Kozel, Tomasz Peszynski, Michal Majzner, Rostislav Prokopjuk, Jana Prokopjuk, Yaroslav Vasilenko, Olena Brana, Pavel Schreiber, Martina Kourouma, Vlasta Pospíšilová, Alena Václavíková, Roman Porteš, Jana Lekešová, Ivana Mádrová.
