The Government of The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan
"I am Farkhunda. They beat me to death and set me on fire."

"The mob of men beat 27-year-old Farkhunda before throwing her body off a roof, running over it with a car, setting it on fire and throwing it into a river near a well-known mosque."
[1]

The attack is the first of its kind in Afghanistan. Breaking with taboo and tradition, Afghan women carried the coffin at Farkhunda's funeral.

The horrific killing of #Farkhunda shocked many Afghans and renewed calls for authorities to ensure women’s rights to equality and protection from violence.

"Twenty-six people have been arrested in connection with the brutal killing, Afghanistan's Interior Minister Noorul Haq Ulumi said Monday in a statement before parliament." [2]

We petition to demand justice for Farkhunda, her family and the rest of the women in Afghanistan.
