Shahram Ahmadi is in danger of being
executed in Iran
.
Her mother says " My son is yet to be 30, why do my children have to die? Please help me save my son . "
Shahram Ahmadi, 30, was arrested in November 2009 for belonging to a Sunni group. After six years of imprisonment Shahram has been sentenced to death penalty and his lawyer was informed of the verdict on 25th of October 2015. He has been charged with “Moharebeh”, “acting against national security” and “propaganda against the regime of Iran”.
During the six years of his imprisonment, Shahram was kept in solitary confinement, tortured and was transferred to several prisons. Shahram has been suffering from kidney problem without receiving any medical attention. Shahram’s younger brother, Bahram Ahmadi was executed with five other prisoners on 25th April 2015.
Sharham’s mother, in her letter, has made a heart-breaking plea asking people to help save her son. She has written:
“ Greetings,
They are going to kill [hang] my second son. My Shahram yet to be 30 years old. He has been in prison for seven years. He has been kept in solitary confinement for the most of his imprisonment. His death sentence for religious activities in mosque, has been sent to the Department of Execution Warrants . What can I do as a mother? Bahram, his brother, was also hanged. How much a mother can tolerate? ... Please do something to save my son. It’s a couple of years that I have become paralyzed, even can't go to Tehran to visit my son [in prison]. I rather the regime hang me instead of my son. My son is yet to be 30, why do my children have to die? Please help me save my son."
Regime in Iran has continually executing prisoners. According to the latest report by the UN Special Rapporteur on the Situation of Human Rights in Iran from the beginning of 2015 at least 694 prisoners have been executed in Iran.
Sharharm Ahmadi and many other are awaiting execution. We need to act now. We call on all human rights organizations and concerned individuals to take an action to stop executions in Iran. We ask you to respond to the plea from Shahram’s mother and sign this petition to demand the overturn of Shahram Ahmadi’s execution sentence.
