British arms sales to Nigeria are being used in the murder of innocent demonstrators on a freedom march for the independence of the Biafran state in east Nigeria. This shooting of peaceful demonstrators has been going on for the past week. It should now be unequivocally condemned by the British government. The release of Nnamdi Kanu, a British journalist, who supports Biafran independence and who is currently incarcerated in Nigeria should be immediate. Britain should place an immediate arms embargo on Nigeria, support a referendum to enable the people democratically decide on their future and help prevent yet another refugee crisis.
