Petition to the Prime Minister Fillon and Ministers Kouchner, Morin and Amara:

We share your concerns and strongly oppose the current repressive policy towards the Roma citizens. We call on you to take action to get President Sarkozy to immediately stop the crackdown on the Roma and pursue instead a policy of reception and integration with EU Roma citizens. No harsher measures targeting the Roma people should be introduced into immigration law and transitory measures regarding access of Romanian and Bulgarian citizens to France's labor market should be lifted.

Old women and men forced to kneel during a Roma camp dismantlement in Saint-Denis, Paris region

Four people could stop President Sarkozy's repressive crackdown and collective expulsion of thousands of Roma people from France - PM Fillon and Ministers Kouchner, Morin and Amara.

Ignoring mounting criticism worldwide, the French government is pushing for a more aggressive law against the deprived Roma community, but these four Ministers have opposed the shameful expulsions and a massive public outcry calling on them to stand by their word could spur them to action and halt the xenophobic policy.

But time is running out -- more expulsions are planned for next week and harsher measures could soon become law. Let's join together and tell these Ministers that the French people want them to take urgent action against the 'anti-Roma' plan. Click below to sign the petition and forward it to everyone - let's reach 100,000 signatures and it will be delivered to them before this week's Council of Ministers meeting:
