Thailand: Stop slavery at sea

To Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha:

As citizens from all around the world, outraged by the enslavement of thousands of migrants in the Thai fishing industry, we call on you to take immediate and concrete action to crack down on human trafficking. Thailand must urgently strengthen and enforce laws and policies on migration, labour at sea, and the fishing industry, as well as end all complicity by Thai officials and hold all those involved accountable.

Thailand: Stop slavery at sea
Bought, beaten, and forced to work day and night on Thai slave ships, thousands of migrants have no hope of freedom or even seeing land again. But now Thailand's military rulers are finally beginning to feel the heat, and a global citizen movement could tilt the balance and end slavery at sea.

The EU is giving Thailand a few more weeks to clean up its illegal fishing industry before possibly imposing a trade ban. If we hit the Thai authorities right now with a global outcry to crackdown on slavery in their fishing industry, letting them know we'll be persistently showing up at the EU before the deadline to ensure a ban, we can get them to fast track real reform.
