As citizens concerned about our democracy, we call on you to block any trade or investment deal that threatens to undermine social, environmental, employment or privacy standards, or to privatise public services. We oppose secretive investor tribunals or other special mechanisms for corporations to challenge our laws. This means the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership, the Trans-Pacific Partnership, and other agreements should be rejected unless citizens' basic rights are fully respected.

It’s a horrifying power grab, but we’re just in time to stop officials handing over our hard-won democracies to greedy corporations such as Monsanto and Bayer.

It’s described as a trade agreement, but TTIP is about so much more -- it could let business lobbyists crawl all over our laws before citizens even hear about them, and flood our countries with bee-killing pesticides, gas guzzling cars and GM foods.

Massive public opposition in a few countries has politicians worried, and key parliamentary votes in days are our moment to ensure trade negotiators respect democracy, not dismantle it!

The European Parliament votes next week, and Congress soon after. Let's raise a huge petition, deliver it with representatives who get this danger and keep our hard-won rights intact.
