Global Poll Results: Being Fearless in 2010


The results are in! More than 100,000 of us answered the 2010 Avaaz survey on where to go next and delivered a strong mandate to scale up our campaigning on today's most pressing issues. Together we set the course for where Avaaz and global people power should go next!

Priorities:

  • Pushing for a strong global climate treaty to avoid climate catastrophe - 70%
  • Campaigning and supporting indigenous peoples' efforts against deforestation - 65%
  • Challenging the role of polluter companies and lobbies and their negative impact on the environment - 63%
  • Exposing organized crime, such as the 'rape trade' of millions of girls forced to be sex slaves - 50%

Other outcomes

  • nearly two-thirds of us said that we must stay flexible on issues and respond to the greatest needs and opportunities to make change.

  • 58% of us voted to start building a powerful base of sustainers -- with as many of us who can donating monthly to make our movement stronger.
