To the leaders of G20 countries:

As concerned citizens from around the world, we are deeply worried about the UNRWA financial crisis that might result in closing 700 schools in the Middle East. We call on you to increase your generous contributions to keep UNRWA schools running, and invest in a better future for children.

G20 Leaders: Support UNRWA Schools
Next week half a million children may be on the streets of the world’s most unstable region if G20 countries don’t help fund UN schools in the Middle East. But if we come together we can avert this crisis and give these children the education they deserve.

Our governments are spending billions of tax dollars bombing ISIS but they also need to invest in schools for our children. Saudi Arabia has already pitched in $35 million, but it’s not nearly enough to cover the $101 million deficit. Now the pressure is mounting on the EU, the USA, Canada, Germany, Japan and others across the globe to pitch in as the tragic decision to delay the school year might be announced in a few days, and eventually close all 700 schools due to lack of funding.

Our leaders need to hear it from us: we want our tax money to be spent on building a better life for our children, and not push them into the arms of ISIS. If hundreds of thousands of people around the world speak out we can convince our leaders to invest in education, not bombs. Join this urgent call now -- sign the petition and share it widely.
