Israel is moving to seize the West Bank. The Israeli cabinet approved a plan to allow de facto annexation of most of the occupied territory, in blatant violation of international law.

The plan threatens to tear families from their land and worsen horrific settler violence: In recent weeks, Israeli settlers in the West Bank have reportedly uprooted hundreds of olive trees, attacked Palestinian villages, and burned homes and vehicles. Multiple Palestinians have been shot. At least eight are reported to have been killed, one man sexually assaulted in front of his family, and several women and girls brutally beaten.

The same far-right leaders driving this annexation push, have also backed and passed legislation allowing expanded use of the death penalty against Palestinian prisoners convicted by the military court.

This is not right – Palestinians should be able to move with dignity, peace, and security in their own land.

Let’s stand with them and fight for that future. Nine countries have already sanctioned the architects of annexation – now it’s time to go further. We can push them to freeze all trade with illegal settlements and get a critical mass of countries on board with sanctions – making it very costly for Israel to continue this violent takeover.
