Dear MADHOUSE,
japanese animation fans around the world knows about your success being an animation studio. Some know your name for quite a long time. Among your works, we can mention well known titles like Trigun, Cardcaptor Sakura, Hajime no Ippo, Claymore, Chobits, BECK and Black Lagoon between many, many others. Recently we've seen greatly animated One Punch Man, that debuted worldwide and was probably the best 2015 animation by far. But many of us remember your name as the one who picked Hunter x Hunter, that had an older animation back in the late 90's, and upgraded it back in 2011. And this is the whole point of this petition.
As you may know, Berserk, the manga written and illustrated by Kentaro Miura, is a title worldwide known as one of the most (if not THE most) wild because of it's contents. Back in the late 90's, OLM worked on it and made a very pleasant animation, even with the small details left aside in the main history — this is very common in japanese animation scenario, by the way. The soundtrack was excellent and captured the feelings of every moment, and the artwork quality was way above average. But, then, Berserk left us with an 15 year delay in animations. The manga continued, even with Miura constant hiatuses, and became, in my humble opinion, the best manga still published, reaching the 38th volume up to date.
In 2012, Stuido 4ºC came up with movies of The Golden Age Arc, picking behind many things the old animation left aside. It was a great work, even with a poor CGI in some scenes, and we're grateful for that. The movies heated the flame of the title and they announced for this year, 2016, a new animation that ensues the next part of the tale. Almost 20 years later, that was the best news we could ever imagine.
But, as in manga, the dream became a nightmare. After 3 episodes of the poorest CGI animation we've ever seen in over a decade, an non-matching soundtrack and a shocking quantity of content left out by GEMBA, we, Berserk fans, became… well, BERSRK!
So, we need an great animation studio to revive Berserk as the way it should be. We need something to match the unparelleled work of Miura in the screens. Something with the best quality in image, something that pleases our ears with good soundtracks. An animation that REALLY uses the manga content instead of creating sh-- out of nowhere or excluding things essential to the plot. Something we can show to our grandchildren (after they complete 16, of course). And we believe this studio is YOURS!
So, please, in the name of the many Berserk fans around the world,
