Concerned Citizens Everywhere: Support WA state voters
On November 8th, Washington state stands poised to pass the strongest climate policy in American history&colon a revenue‐neutral carbon tax.
Help pass this groundbreaking legislation by urging the citizens of Washington State to vote yes on I‐732.

This proposal makes taxes more fair and promotes
cleaner energy with four bold steps&colon
• Institute a carbon tax of &dollar25 per metric ton
CO2 on fossil fuels consumed in the state of Washington.
• Fund the Working Families Rebate to provide up to &dollar1500 a year for 400,000 low‐income working households.
• Effectively eliminate the B&O business tax for manufacturers.
• Reduce the state sales tax by one full percentage point.
I‐732 is not a tax increase. It will not increase the size of government, its budget, or the total amount of taxes we
pay. I‐732 simply shifts our existing tax burden away from the goods, businesses, and families we want and onto the carbon pollution we don’t want. I‐732 offsets the regressive impacts of a carbon tax by reducing the most regressive tax in Washington State, our sales tax, by 1&percnt.
See why Greg Ip of the Wall Street Journalcalls it an opportunity to "reconcile two divergent priorities&colon climate change and economic growth"&colon http&colon//www.wsj.com/articles/a‐growth‐friendly‐climate‐change‐proposal‐1475079939

This month, October 2016, was the historic moment when the number of nations ratifying the Paris Agreement reached 76, crossing the threshold required to put the agreement into
force. However, sweeping changes in the global economy are required to achieve the 1.5 degree C target. An elegant and powerful solution exists. A carbon tax is the silver bullet needed to implement the Paris Agreement, and Washington state can be an example to other U. S. states and the world.
