The Government Of India, The Prime Minister
Pakistan captured Lt. Saurabh Kalia and his patrol party of 5 brave men- Sepoys Arjun Ram, Bhanwar Lal Bagaria, Bhika Ram, Moola Ram and Naresh Singh, alive on May 15, 1999 from the Indian side of LOC. They were kept in captivity for three weeks and subjected to unprecedented brutal torture which included- inflicting burns on these Indian officers with cigarettes, piercing their ears with hot rods, removing their eyes before puncturing them and breaking most of the bones and teeth. They even chopped off various limbs and private organs of the Indian soldiers besides inflicting unimaginable physical and mental torture. After 22 days of torture, the brave soldiers were ultimately shot dead.

Dr NK Kalia has alleged that his son Lt Saurabh Kalia was captured as a prisoner of war but was killed in a gruesome manner in violation of the Geneva Convention.

Dr NK Kalia, who approached the Supreme court, is now demanding that the court direct the Centre to move the International Court of Justice (ICJ) against Pakistan to declare this act as a war crime.

I am urging all of you to sign this petition in order to acknowledge the bravery of Lt. Saurabh Kalia and his team and also to move Indian government bring this matter up with International Court of Justice (ICJ).

Our soldiers are fighting and dying on borders to keep us safe. A war is the result of a few men (politicians) sitting in their chambers, smoking away cigars and giving away orders. Our soldiers don’t deserve to die. Whatever happens, let us not kill the human within us.
