Our health and planet are at risk and we need to take action. Approximately 8 million tons of plastic materials are dumped into the oceans annually, and excessive waste pollutes our communities and many wildlife habitats. This waste pollution releases greenhouse gases, which contribute to climate change and air pollution by increasing carbon emissions in the atmosphere.

A major cause of waste pollution is packaging materials. Unsustainable packaging takes 100 years to decompose and we are all being exposed to the consequences of this waste. Toxins are being released into the air which negatively impact the health of many species. It is time to fight against this waste pollution.

McDonalds is the biggest fast-food contributor to waste pollution, producing 1.5 million tons every year. Being the world’s largest fast-food chain, McDonalds has the power to set an example and create massive change in the industry.

Our Demands for McDonalds:

1. Ban single-use, unsustainable packaging/materials
2. Use 100% biodegradable packaging/materials
3. Reduce food waste by composting leftover food
4. Commit to community cleanups through corporate philanthropy

This issue affects us all, waste pollution not only contributes to climate change, but it is negatively impacting communities, habitats, and our health. Our planet is suffering, and we need to take action. All of us together have the ability to influence McDonalds into improving their policies. We are running this campaign to demand that McDonalds implements initiatives regarding their waste pollution practices, in order to save lives and protect our planet. Sign our petition to do your part in reducing the toxic waste pollution that McDonalds is causing.
